Berkeley Public Library Foundation Tenth Annual Author's Dinner

The Berkeley Public Library Foundation's Tenth Annual Author's Dinner brought into focus the importance and continuing impact of real books in print. http://bplf.org/ Minuteman Press of Berkeley was excited to be part of this great event in the Bay Area book world once again. http://www.e-minutemanpress.com/index.html With so much talk about ebooks and the demise of the printed book it was a great pleasure to attend this dinner in the stacks and the reading rooms of one of the greatest libraries in the United States. It is hard to imagine that the Berkeley Public Library, no matter how prominent, is the second busiest library in the country after the New York City Public Library! The sense conveyed by over 30 diverse and first rate authors was that books are here to stay. How we access books may be evolving but it is very clear that the printed page is not going away any time soon.
